UPR of Uzbekistan : report on the human rights situation
On the occasion of the Universal Periodic Review of Uzbekistan by the UN Human Rights Council which took place on the 24th of April 2013, the Uzbek Bureau on Human Rights and Rule of Law (UBHRRL) published a report, with the support of FIDH, on the human rights situation.
The document describes the latest evolutions concerning the application of Uzbek legislation and the ongoing serious violations of human rights. At the end of this report, the organisation presented several recommendations made to the Uzbek authorities, many of which were repeated during the State interventions. In particular, the necessity to defend and implement effectively freedom of association, children’s right and to protect the citizens against torture.
