FIDH and its French member organisation, LDH (Ligue des droits de l’Homme et du citoyen), firmly and unequivocally condemn the terrorist attacks that took place during the night of 13-14 November 2015 in Paris and Saint Denis.

We wish to express our sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and our solidarity and wishes for recovery to the many persons wounded. We testify to the solidarity expressed in the last few hours by the numerous member organisations and human rights defenders throughout the world.

These despicable attacks are directed at all of humanity.

We wish to stress that the exceptional measures that have been adopted are a response to the present emergency but should only be applied for a limited period of time and harbour no stigmatization.

We wish to join the appeals expressed for the solidarity of all citizens against fear and for the protection of freedom, democracy and our will to live together.
