The Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders strongly
condemned the closing by Iranian authorities of the offices of the Defenders of
Human Rights Center, led by Iran’s Nobel peace prize winner Shirin
Ebadi
.

On December 21 ,2008, Iranian police raided and closed the Defenders of
Human Rights Center (FIDH member organization in Iran), shortly before the
group was due to hold a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights.
