Comments and Recommendations on the ‘Discussion paper on the Review of the ICC Legal Aid System’

On the 31 January 2012, the CICC Legal Representation Team, of which FIDH is an active member, submitted to the Registrar of the ICC, a position paper commenting the Registrar’s "Discussion paper on the Review of the ICC Legal Aid System".

FIDH and the CICC Legal Representation Team express their concern in this paper, presenting comments and recommendations to ensure that the legal aid system will enable the implementation of an effective legal representation and participation of victims.

Legal Representatives of Victims have also made comments to the Registry’s Discussion Paper on the Review of the ICC Legal Aid System submitted by Sureta Chana, Legal Representative of Victims in the Ruto case (Kenya I), Morris Anyah, Legal Representative of Victims in the Muthaura case (Kenya II), and endorsed by Legal Representatives of Victims of the Lubanga case, Katanga case, situation in DRC, Bemba case, Bashir case.
