FIDH (International Federation for Human Rights) is an international human rights NGO. Since 1992, it has been committed to defending all civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights as defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It brings together 188 national human rights organizations from 112 countries.
FIDH is looking for a legal and administrative support professional for the Americas office in the framework of the EU project: "Strengthening of civil society organizations, victims and their communities for the reconstruction of the social fabric and the consolidation of territorial peace in the regions of Guajira, Cesar (Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta), Atlántico, Huila, Tolima, Santander, Meta, Montes de María (Bolívar and Sucre)".

Location: Bogotá (Colombia).

Reporting relationship: Director of the Americas Office.

Type of contract: Fixed-term contract (from June 3 to December 31, 2024 with the possibility of extension) in accordance with Colombian labor legislation.

Responsibilities of the position :

- Support in the documentation of crimes against humanity or other human rights violations committed against indigenous peoples and the differentiated impact this has had on these groups.
- Draft litigation documents before the Special Jurisdiction for Peace.
- Prepare and organize documentation missions and advocacy tours at national and international level (includes administrative and logistical work, such as requesting appointments, booking hotels, etc.).
- Support advocacy activities.
- Support the organization of training activities within the framework of the project.
- Support in cross-cutting project activities, including administrative work, workshop organization and for narrative project reports.

Profile sought:

Required
- Two (2) years of work experience related to the job profile.
- Experience working with victims of the internal armed conflict.
- Knowledge of the functioning of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP).
- Specialization or master’s degree in human rights, procedural law or criminal law.
- Good level of English or French.

Desirable
- Litigation experience in human rights, criminal law and transitional justice.
- Practicing lawyer in Colombia.
- Experience working with human rights defender organizations.

Salary range:
- 3,780,000 Colombian pesos per month plus legal benefits.
