Recent actions of the Campaign

In 2009, FIDH and 4 regional organisations launched a campaign for women’s rights in Africa. The campaign links over 100 human rights and women’s rights organisations in 40 countries across the continent, working together to push governements to ratify key women’s rights protection instruments and to respect them in law and practice. While some progress has been achieved, FIDH and its partners continues to strengthen mobilisation so that national governments and parlaments take concrete steps to eliminate discrimination and violence against women.
