Report : Criminalising social protests against extraction projects in Ecuador

FIDH and its member organisations in Ecuador, CEDHU and INREDH, will present Thursday 10 December, on the occasion of the International Day for Human Rights, a report demonstrating that the criminalisation of social protests has increased considerably over the past years.

This report follows an investigative mission in January 2015. Several cases of criminalisation will notably be presented: Javier Ramírez, on of the leaders of the Junín community, Manuel Trujillo, President of the San Pablo Amalí community (Bolívar province) and Pepe Acacho, member of the National Assembly and representative of the Amazonian province of Zamora-Chinchipe.
