Submission to the UN Human Rights Committee for the adoption of the List of Issues

Today, FIDH made a submission to the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Committee (CCPR) for the adoption of the List of Issues (LoI) for Cambodia with regard to the situation of civil and political rights.

The submission presents key issues of concern and poses 25 questions related to the following areas:

  Discrimination against women.
  State of Emergency.
  Right to life.
  Detention conditions.
  Arbitrary arrests and detentions.
  Right to freedom of movement.
  Right to a fair trial.
  Right to freedom of opinion and expression.
  Right to freedom of peaceful assembly.
  Right to freedom of association.
  Protection of children.
  Right to take part in public affairs.

The LoI for Cambodia will be adopted during the CCPR’s 129th session, which is set to be held from 29 June to 24 July 2020 in Geneva, Switzerland.
