- Sihem Ben Sedrine, the former president of the Truth and Dignity Commission (TDC) tasked with investigating the crimes of the Ben Ali regime, was arrested on 1 August 2024.
- The judicial harassment of the woman who, in 2018, submitted the final report of the investigation into the crimes of the Ben Ali dictatorship, marks a terrible turning point for freedoms and democracy in Tunisia.
- The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), along with 22 other human rights organisations, calls for an end to the prosecution and various forms of obstruction of Ms Ben Sedrine’s freedom.
