The 15th of March will mark the second anniversary of the start of the Syrian revolution. During these two years, according to the United Nations, more than 70 000 persons were killed.

Tens of thousands of others have been detained or disappeared, thousands of Syrians have been submitted to torture and ill-treatments, sexual violence and looting. Millions were displaced, both inside and outside the country.

This is why on Friday 15th March at 7pm, we are inviting the world’s population to stand together. To say STOP to the massacres in Syria.

White waves will take place in:


  • Paris, Place du Panthéon at 7pm (local time)
  • New-York, Washington Square at 7pm (local time)
  • Cairo, at the Egyptian Pyramids at 7pm (local time)
  • Casablanca, Place des Nations unies at 1pm (local time)
  • Geneva, Place Neuve at 5:30pm (local time)
  • Kuweit City, at Kuweit University at 7pm (local time)
  • Brussels, Central Station at 7pm (local time)
  • Bichkek, Ala-Too Square at 7pm (local time)

It’s easy to show your support. Simply hold up a piece of paper, with the word STOP on it. Wherever you are, and whoever you’re with.

As a prelude to this event, we invite you to discover 20 films entitled “2’ for Syria”, conducted with the help of the FIDH, which are be broadcast on national and international channels. Twenty celebrities joined to the protest by accompanying with their voices what Syrian citizens filmed at the risk of their lifes.

The more we are, the stronger our protest will be.
