ICC opens preliminary examination into the situation of Palestine

Palestine acceded to the ICC on 2 January 2015 and lodged a declaration accepting ICC jurisdiction over crimes committed on its territory since 13 June 2014. The Office of the Prosecutor will now examine all relevant elements prior to deciding whether to proceed with an investigation for alleged international crimes committed in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

FIDH [1] calls upon the International Commission of Inquiry on the Gaza conflict, the State of Palestine and all relevant States and organisations to fully cooperate with the ICC. FIDH will continue to cooperate with the ICC and contribute to its analysis of the situation, as well as collaborating with the International Commission of Inquiry.
