Resolution on the Human Rights situation in Turkey and the sub-region, adopted by FIDH’s Congress in Yerevan

Resolution on the Human Rights situation in Turkey and the sub-region

The draft resolutions proposed by the Human Rights Associations (IHD) for the Congress are below.

Resolutions:

1. IHD suggests to FIDH to carry out a project to launch a relationship and then provides close
cooperation among the human rights organizations in Turkey and its neighbours (Greece, Bulgaria, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan)

2. IHD suggests to the FIDH General Assembly to call upon the Turkish and Armenian parliaments to ratify the Protocols that were signed between Turkey and Armenia on 10th of October, 2009.

3. IHD suggests to FIDH to call for the resolution of the Kurdish Issue, which is the most important problem in Turkey and also one of the most important problems in the Middle East, through democratic and peaceful methods and urge the Turkish authorities to end all the repressions against Kurdish politicians and mayors in Turkey.

4. IHD suggests to FIDH to carry out a campaign to end the repressions against human rights
defenders in Turkey, the Middle East and Caucasia.

5. IHD suggests to FIDH to initiate steps for the abolishment of the death penalty and stop their executions before the governments including Iran, Iraq, China and USA.

6. IHD suggests to FIDH to take steps before the governments in the Middle East, Caucasia and Turkey to implement appropriate and effective administrative measures to prevent violence against women.
