FIDH third-party intervention: French case on the right to marriage and "family life" of same-sex couples

On 27 October 2009, FIDH, jointly with ICJ, AIRE-Centre and ILGA-Europe, submitted written comments concerning the right of same-sex couples to "family life". This third-party intervention in the Chaplin & Charpentier v. France case argues that same-sex couples must be provided with some means of qualifying for rights or benefits attached to marriage.
