Article 7.1: Hold Hungary and Poland accountable for violating EU values

Ahead of the next European Union (EU) General Affairs Council meeting on 15 November 2023, where the situation in Hungary and Poland will be examined under Article 7.1 of the Treaty on European Union (TEU), the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) along with seven other human rights and civic space NGOs sent a letter to EU Ministers asking them to continue to hold both the Hungarian and the Polish governments accountable for violating EU values by using the Article 7.1 TEU procedure.
