In a statement issued on the 28th of May, the EU voices its utmost concern for the current political situation in Thailand and calls urgently for the restoration of the legitimate democratic process.
FIDH briefed the diplomatic community at a prior meeting in Bangkok, which included all the EU member states, and raised a number of these concerns namely the restoration of the Constitution, the immediate release of all those arrested under the military coup and the respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
