As of September 3, 2007, 42 women’s rights activists are being or have been prosecuted for their involvement in the defence of women’s rights.
The Observatory has been compiling all the information available on these cases in two synthetic documents.
These documents were subsequently sent to the United Nations protection mechanisms as well as to the European Union in order that concrete actions be undertaken to remedy this situation.
