FIDH advances respect for economic, social and cultural rights in Cambodia

Witnessing violations of the right to land, housing rights and restrictions on the right of victims to access justice in Cambodia, FIDH and its member organisations have strongly mobilised to denounce land grabbing and intimidation of those opposing this practice. Following our recommendations, the Cambodian Prime Minister issued a directive freezing the granting of land concessions on 7 May 2012. The directive further stipulates that any company violating the applicable procedures and contracts on this matter may see its concession withdrawn.
