On 30th March 2016, FIDH and 28 other NGOs sent the following letter to Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) of the Committee on Foreign Affairs before their 4th April discussion of the European Union-Turkmenistan Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA). NGOs urged MEPs to defer approval of the agreement until such time as the government of Turkmenistan meets the human rights benchmarks established by the European Parliament.
