On 26 June EU Member States adopted a strategic framework and action plan in favour of human rights and democracy in the world. The European Union thus exhibits its determination to integrate human rights into all foreign policy, especially economic and trade.
This strategic framework is the outcome of continuous advocacy by FIDH at the European level, to secure the incorporation of human rights into its trade and development policies, its fight against terrorism and its regulation of European companies in third countries. FIDH will push the implementation of this strategic framework as a priority to enhance its visibility, effectiveness and consistent application.
