REDRESS - FIDH - TRIAL - ECCHR EU Update on international crimes (11th edition)

Today, REDRESS, in collaboration with the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), TRIAL (Track Impunity Always) and the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) publishes the 11th edition of the EU Update on international crimes, a newsletter issued in the framework of their joint project on universal jurisdiction "Implementing the Rights of Victims of International Crimes in the European Union".

The EU Update analyses developments in legislation, practice and policy across Europe - both at the national and international level - on efforts to prosecute crimes under international law, ensure accountability for suspected perpetrators, and ensure protection and support for victims.

Highlights in this edition include analysis of the role of immigration authorities in combating impunity in the Netherlands and in South Africa, an update on a proposed EU Action Plan on Combating Impunity for International Crimes, and an interview with key practitioners on current challenges in Spain.
