The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) today requested that the authorities in charge of the administration of justice investigate officials of the federal public officials of Coahuila and of the municipalities of Allende and Piedras Negras accused of having links with ’Los Zetas’ in the case known as ’The Allende Massacre’ and classified the case as ’extremely serious’.

The CNDH’s request follows accusations made by witnesses during the Texas trials and studies by the University of Texas, the College of Mexico, and FIDH.

FIDH is following this case very closely and submitted a communication to the International Criminal Court in 2017 requesting a preliminary examination of the serious crimes committed in the Mexican state of Coahuila, from 2009 to 2016.
