A Project Coordinator on Business & Human Rights in Chile, Peru and Brazil for 17 months


The FIDH (International Federation of Human Rights) is an international NGO that defends human rights. Since 1922, we have been committed to defending all civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

We federate 192 national associations for the defense of human rights, active in 117 countries. For us, the transformation of societies is the responsibility, mainly, of local actors. Our activities aim to strengthen their capacity for action and influence.

We are looking for :

A Project Coordinator on Business and Human Rights in Chile, Peru and Brazil for a period of 17 months

Within the Americas and Globalization Desks, coordinate a project aimed at exploring and promoting greater respect for human rights and environmental rights by companies, in particular by strengthening their obligations with regulatory instruments.

Your main responsibilities:
• Project management (monitoring of activities, writing reports in particular the three semi-annual narrative reports and coordination with member organizations and partners in Peru, Chile and Brazil).
• Implementation of certain activities, including:
◦ Organization of meetings and three webinars between members of the coalitions of Peru, Chile and Brazil.
◦ Coordination of the consultation process in the three countries that will lead to the drafting of a regional advocacy note.
◦ Organization of 2 regional workshops
◦ Advocacy with our partners against public authorities in favor of reforms that promote greater respect for human rights and the right to the environment by companies, particularly through due diligence legislation.
• Contribute to the consolidation and development of the link with FIDH members and partners in Peru, Chile and Brazil.
• Participate in the programming and reporting of the activities of the departments.

• Higher education in human rights or international law or political science, with experience in project management.
• Extensive knowledge of the context, dynamics and problems in the specific field "Business and Human Rights" and/or "Environment and Human Rights" in Latin America.
• Excellent writing and speaking skills in Spanish and English are required. Knowledge of Portuguese would be an advantage.
• The candidate must be rigorous and organized.

Terms and Conditions
• 17-month contract preferably in Chile, Peru or Brazil (Consulting could be possible).
• From €2,200 monthly gross remuneration based on the resume.
• Availability required from October 15.
