FIDH (International Federation for Human Rights) is an international human rights NGO. Since 1922, we have been committed to the defence of all civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights as defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

We are a federation of 192 national human rights organisations active in 117 countries. We believe that the transformation of societies is first and foremost the responsibility of local actors. Our activities aim to strengthen their capacity for action and their influence.

The International Secretariat of the FIDH is a human-sized organisation (45 employees in Paris and 14 employees in several offices abroad) and is composed of a committed international team. Our Paris office is located in a lively and central area of Paris (near Bastille and Gare de Lyon).

We are recruiting for the Communication department : OPERATIONAL COMMUNICATION MANAGER (M/F)

Overall objective of the position :
Under the supervision of the Director of Communication, within a department of 6 employees with you, the Operational Communication Manager reinforces the visibility of the FIDH and its actions through the implementation of communication campaigns at the international level and thanks to the development of the digital strategy of the FIDH for which you will be responsible.
You will work in close coordination with the programme and advocacy departments, as well as in interaction with national human rights leagues, members and partners. In 2022, the FIDH will organize its Centenary.

Your main responsibilities
1. Develop communication campaigns (2 to 4 campaigns per year) :
• Participate in the programming and writing of specifications ;
• Plan the distribution of campaigns in conjunction with the press team ;
• To manage campaigns and interventions of communication agencies ;
• Ensure the follow-up of the campaigns and the operational organization of the actions (coordination of the directions, interface with the agencies, animation of the committees, follow-up of the purchases) ;
• Evaluate campaigns to measure their effectiveness.

2. Carry out communication on social networks :
• Develop the digital communication strategy on social networks and its operational declination (Web, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, Facebook, YouTube) : editorial line, advertising policy, influencers mapping, referencing policy, research of iconographic elements for the animation of the website, putting online on the website, coordination and promotion of the newsletter ;
• Coordinate digital tools to ensure consistency, webmarketing on fundraising in conjunction with the fundraising department, digital activities with delegations abroad ;
• Organize training on digital tools, particularly for staff ;
• Monitor digital communication tools in order to make the necessary adjustments.

3. Reporting (10% of time) :
• Carry out reporting on operational communication activities (FIDH annual report, reports for donors, etc.) to ensure rigorous monitoring of the actions carried out and their impact ;
• Contribute to the evaluation of the department’s activities in order to improve its operation ;
• Develop and monitor the department’s budget.

4. Manage the Digital Communications Officer :
• Set the course and define your objectives, monitor your activity and evaluate your work.

Profile required
• With a Master’s degree in communication, you must have at least 5 years of professional experience (excluding internships) in a similar position that will have allowed you to manage communication campaigns within an international and multilingual organization.
• You are an excellent communicator. You have excellent writing skills.
• You are accustomed to interacting and collaborating with a variety of people and issues. Good teamwork skills.
• You are expert in both knowledge and practice: social networks (Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, Facebook, YouTube), SEO mechanisms, Google Analytics and sponsorship techniques.
• You are rigorous in steering and managing projects.
• You know how to manage service providers and a budget.
• You have already successfully managed a small team.
• A solid understanding of global geopolitical issues and/or knowledge of the human rights environment would be appreciated.
• Fluency in written and spoken English (C1) and French (C2). Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
• The softskills that will help you succeed and enjoy yourself at FIDH: multitasking, audacity, creativity, autonomy, positive attitude, persuasion.

Terms and conditions of pay :
Full time permanent contract. Executive status. Position based in Paris. The teleworking agreement is under negotiation. Salary from 37,7 K€ gross per year over 13 months, depending on experience. 25 days paid holiday and 24 days RTT per year. Supplementary health insurance covered at 80% by the FIDH. Meal vouchers with a face value of €9, paid for at 60% by the FIDH. 50% of the cost of public transport passes paid for.
