We are a federation of 188 national human rights organisations active in 117 countries. We believe that the transformation of societies is first and foremost the responsibility of local actors. Our activities aim to strengthen their capacity for action and influence.

The International Secretariat of the FIDH is a human-sized organisation with a committed international team (49 employees in France, 20 employees in several offices abroad (Belgium, Geneva, The Hague, Bangkok, Tunis). Our Paris office is located in a lively and central area of Paris (near Bastille and Gare de Lyon).


Under the supervision of the Director of Communication, within a department of 6 employees, the Operational Communication Manager reinforces the visibility of the FIDH and its actions through the implementation of communication campaigns at the international level and through the elaboration of the FIDH digital strategy for which you will be responsible.

You will work in close coordination with the programme and advocacy departments, as well as in interaction with national human rights league members and partners.

Your main responsibilities :

1. Develop communication campaigns (2-4 campaigns per year) :

• Participate in the programming and drafting of specifications;
• Plan the distribution of campaigns in conjunction with the press team;
• Manage the campaigns and interventions of the communication agencies;
• Ensure the follow-up of the campaigns and the operational organisation of the actions (coordination of the directions, interface with the agencies, animation of the committees, follow-up of the purchases);
• Evaluate campaigns to measure their effectiveness.

2. Carry out communication on social networks:

• Develop the digital communication strategy on social networks and its operational implementation (web, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Tik Tok, Twitch): editorial line, advertising policy, mapping of influencers, referencing policy, research of iconographic elements for the animation of the website, posting on the website, coordination and promotion of the newsletter ;
• Coordinate digital tools to ensure consistency, including fundraising webmarketing in conjunction with the fundraising department and digital activities with delegations abroad;
• Organise training on digital tools, particularly for staff;
• Monitor communication tools in order to make the necessary adjustments.

3. Coordination with the fundraising department

• Meeting the needs of the fundraising department with regard to funders and individual donors, including through digital marketing
• Propose digital and print content dedicated to fundraising activities (greeting cards, one-pagers, thank you messages, etc.)

4. Reporting (10% of time) :

• Carry out reporting on operational communication activities (FIDH annual report, reports for donors, etc.) to ensure rigorous monitoring of the actions carried out and their impact;
• To contribute to the evaluation of the department’s activities in order to improve its functioning;
• Develop and monitor the department’s budget.

5. Managing the Digital Communications Officer and the trainee:

• Set the course and objectives, monitor their activities and evaluate their work

6. Coordinate the daily work of the web consultants and graphic designer

Profile required

higher education type Master 2 in communication, you must have at least 5 years of professional experience (excluding internship) in a similar position which will have enabled you to manage communication campaigns, within an international and multilingual organization.

You are an excellent communicator and you have excellent writing skills.

You are used to interacting and collaborating with different interlocutors, with varied challenges and have good teamwork skills.

You are an expert in both knowledge and practice of: social networks (Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, Facebook, Tik Tok, Twitch, YouTube), SEO mechanisms, Google Analytics and sponsorship techniques.

You are rigorous in steering and managing projects, you know how to manage service providers and a budget and you have already successfully managed a small team.

A solid understanding of global geopolitical issues and/or knowledge of the human rights environment would be appreciated.

Fluency in written and spoken English (C1) and French (C2). Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

• Remuneration: from 38K€ gross per year over 13 months,
• Teleworking possible with a minimum of 4 face-to-face days per month.
• 24 days of RTT per year
• Restaurant vouchers with a face value of €9, paid 60% by the FIDH.
• Supplementary health insurance: employer’s contribution of €85 per month.
• Sustainable mobility package or 50% of the cost of public transport passes.
