FIDH (International Federation for Human rights) is looking to fill the following position Vacancy Announcement – Fundraising Officer (Reference FUNDOF-01-19)


Based at the International Secretariat in Paris, the Fundraising Officer will contribute to FIDH’s efforts to raise funds from, and strengthen relationships with funders (private foundations and public bodies) for its projects. He/She seeks new sources of funding to help meet the growing financial needs of the organization. The Fundraising Officer will work in close collaboration with staff members, under the supervision and the responsibility of the Fundraising Director.

Responsibilities of the Fundraising Officer include principally:
- ​Fundraising cycle management - manages the department’s fundraising calendar of deadlines and contributes to preparation of reports
— Acknowledgement and stewardship - manages donation processing (logs incoming donations, prepares and sends tax receipts and thank you letters); and manages communications plan for funders and donors (prepares and follows up on mailings)
- Financial management - works in partnership with Finance to improve the budget preparation and programme contractualisation process.
- Event management - leads on all logistics for fundraising events globally
- Prospect research - researches prospective funders/donors and assists with preparing cultivation plans for key relationships
- Database implementation and management - works in partnership with IT to identify and implement a new organisational database to manage funder and donor relationships
- Assists with departmental budget management, solicitations (preparing presentations), proposal development (assembling documentation), internal workshop logistics as well as other departmental activities as necessary.

- At least 3 years of professional experience in fundraising, grant writing, project development and funder stewardship
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English
- Excellent interpersonal and representational skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, board members, and funders
- Commitment to the goals of FIDH, good understanding of human rights issues, motivation to work in the non-profit sector

- Annual gross salary of 31000 to 35000 Euros , based on experience.
- Fixed term contract of 12 months, full time, starting in February 2019
- Terms and conditions under French labour law will apply (35 work hours per week)
