FIDH is looking for an Expert Consultant in Financial Management
12-month service contract starting on 1 January 2022

The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) is an international non-governmental organisation based in France whose mission is to promote respect for the principles enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. FIDH is a federation of 192 national human rights associations active on five continents. We defend the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED
Office Management and Executive Assistance
• Run the day-to-day administration of the office, including picking up mail, and following up on any administrative tasks required in the Netherlands for the smooth running of the office.
• Supervise paper and digital record-keeping, as well as ensuring the secure safe keeping of administrative documents.
• Assist teams with the organisation of travel and other activities, such as booking flights and hotels, contacting FIDH’s travel agency, and coordinating per diem and cash advances. Provide any other assistance on administrative matters, as necessary.
• Ensure payments to Consultants, Trainees, Translators, Rents and follow-up

Cash management
• Manage the relationship with FIDH’s bank in the Netherlands.
• Manage cash flows between FIDH’s headquarters in Paris and the office in The Hague.
• Manage the cash box and ensure that all inflows and outflows are recorded.

Financial, accounting and budgetary management :
• Consolidate and prepare the accounts on monthly basis (bank and cash book): verify the accounts before they are sent to FIDH’s headquarters, and consolidate and check the allocation boards (budget allocations).
• Prepare, compile and transfer relevant financial documents to FIDH’s headquarters on a monthly basis (invoices, cash inventories, bank statements, etc.)
• Monitor expenditures against the annual budget of The Hague office
• Prepare and assist with possible financial audits or inspections

Focal point :
• Liaise between FIDH’s headquarters in Paris and the office in The Hague, acting as focal point for all matters relating to finance and administrative matters.
• Liaise with tax office, KVK, landlord, insurance companies

Skills to carry out the assignment
• Expertise in financial management, accounting and administrative management. Analytical skills.
• Good knowledge of Dutch administrative management.
• Writing skills in English and French.

Terms and conditions
Freelance status / self-employed.
Duration : The mission has a duration of 12 months and can start from 01/01/2021 (with possibility of renewal)
Fees : maximum 7,600 euros including VAT for the duration of the assignment (approximately 58 days).
