To combat sexual violence in Africa, the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights ACHPR, in collaboration with FIDH and LHR, is developing Guidelines addressed to states for combating sexual violence and its consequences. These Guidelines will provide guidance on the form and content of the legislation to be enacted and the mechanisms to be established by African Union member states in order to give effect, at national level, to their regional and international obligations. African high-level experts will join forces, brainstorm and work on these Guidelines on Monday 22 August.
