The Poster for Tomorrow competition (http://www.posterfortomorrow.org) opened on April 10 with the theme of the world abolition of the death penalty. International in scope, this competition invites citizens of all countries to create a poster whose message is: "Death is not justice. I don’t want it done in my name, my country, or my world."
The call for entries closes on July 18.

An on-line jury will pre-select the best posters in the month following the close of the call for entries. This jury is composed of 100 people, including 60 graphic designers who represent more than twenty countries, 10 professors from arts schools and universities, 10 representatives of human rights NGOs (including FIDH) and 10 journalists and media partners. A jury composed of 12 internationally renowned graphic designers will meet on September 8 in Paris for the final selection of the top 100 posters.

Poster for tomorrow is an independent, non-profit international project whose goal is to encourage citizens of the world, both in and outside the design community, to make posters to stimulate debate on issues that affect us all. The top 100 posters will be shown at simultaneous exhibitions around the world. The theme of the 2009 campaign was freedom of expression. This year, Poster for Tomorrow is asking graphic designers to create posters that denounce the death penalty.

October 10, 2010 (10/10/10) is World Day Against the Death Penalty. Our goal is to set up 100 simultaneous exhibitions in 100 cities around the world.

Poster for tomorrow will establish a committee of leading cities that are actively supporting the project. Paris, Strasbourg and Belfast are already part of this committee. These cities will help us organize the exhibit on October 7; they will also help spread the word about the project and provide us with financial support so that the project can be carried out in cities without the resources to participate.
