Iran: FIDH and LDDHI report submitted to the forthcoming UPR review

On the occasion of the upcoming universal periodic review of Iran to be held from 27 October to 7 November 2014, FIDH and its member organisation, LDDHI, have submitted the following report to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

The report focuses on several keys human rights concerns in Iran: freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and of association, the death penalty, due process and unfair trials, religious minorities, torture, and women’s rights.

It also highlight the absence of measures undertaken by the Iranian authorities to end the serious human rights violations in the country since Iran’s first UPR review in February 2010.
