The resolution adopted by EP ’on the EU strategy towards Iran’ on 3 April, echoes FIDH’s assessment and demands, namely ensuring that human rights are integrated in all aspects of cooperation and discussed at the highest level, including in the framework of an inclusive and benchmarked dialogue. The resolution recalls the grim reality in Iran where "continued, systematic violation of fundamental rights" persists in total impunity.
FIDH regularly informs key EU actors and the EP about the human rights situation in Iran, organising advocacy meetings and participating in briefing meetings, namely prior to the MEPs visit in Iran in December 2013.
