Sudan: "The same crimes by the same, wanted regime"

[INTERVIEW] Sudanese human rights defender Abd El-Monim El-Gak speaks about the human rights situation and acountability in Sudan in the run-up to the April 2015 presidential election.

Abd El-Monim El-Gak is a Sudanese human rights defender and Vice President of the Commission for the Protection of Civilians and the Promotion of Women’s and Child Rights in the war zone of South Kordofan, Nuba Moutains and Blue Nile. In the interview below, he addresses the current International Criminal Court investigation on Darfur, Sudan, as well as the ongoing human rights violations occurring throughout the country, in particular in the Blue Nile and South Kodofan regions. Finally, he explains the significance of the upcoming presidential election, to be held on 13 April 2015 and the possible consequences of Omar al-Bashir’s re-election.
