US-Africa Leaders Summit: FIDH calls for strong commitments to peace and the strenghtening and protection of democratic processes

Ahead of the U.S.- Africa Summit that will be held on August 4 and 6 to deepen the partnership between the U.S. and Africa, FIDH addresses a position paper to the American and African leaders concerning three fundamental priorities for the continent, namely the fight against impunity, support to the democratic processes, and the protection of human rights defenders.

It also calls the leaders to pay particular attention to the promotion of de jure and de facto equality between women and men and to the fight against discrimination.
