Eleventh Session of the Assembly of States Parties to the ICC Statute, 14-22 November 2012, The Hague

The Eleventh Session of the Assembly of States Parties (ASP) to the Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) opened on the 14th November 2012. FIDH has sent a delegation to present FIDH recommendations and participate in the various sessions and events organised throughout the ASP, from 14 to 22 December 2012 in the Hague.

On the eve of the Eleventh Session of the Assembly of States Parties to the ICC Statute, FIDH has issued a position paper with its main recommendations, relating in particular to the implementation of victims’ rights: "Cutting the Weakest Link: Budget Discussions and their Impact on Victims Rights to Participate in Proceedings before the ICC", November 2012.

FIDH also issued a press release on the 13 November 2012: "States should not hinder ICC’s independence and victims’ rights through budget cuts"

Moreover, FIDH organises in particular two side events during this ASP session on:

 19 November 2012, 6.15 - 7.30 pm (Antarctica Room) on Colombia and the ICC, with ASF, CCAJAR: "Peace negotiations and fight against impunity in Colombia: The need for ICC action"

 21 November 2012, 1.15 - 3.00 pm (Antarctica Room) on Legal Aid: "Legal aid and its impact on participation in the proceedings: steps towards a comprehensive review".
