Nasrin SOTOUDEH is a prominent Iranian lawyer and human rights activist imprisoned since September 4, 2010. Iranian justice charged her with spreading propaganda and conspiring against state security. She started a hunger strike on September 25 to protest against the reasons of her imprisonment and the conditions of her detention.
FIDH and its member organizations call for the immediate release of Nasrin SOTOUDEH. Ms Souhayr BELHASSEN, FIDH President, will join the sit-in organized by the Iranian human rights defenders in front of United Nations in Geneva. Ms Belhassen said she is “very concerned by Nasrin SOTOUDEH’s fate and praises the Iranian women’s determination, who by their action will allow, we all wish, to get Nasrin SOTOUDEH’s release.’’
’’We are all Nasrin SOTOUDEH’’, added FIDH President.
