David Ravelo Crespo is a prominent Colombian human rights defender. He is a member of the National Movement of Victims of State Crimes (Movimiento Nacional de Víctimas de Crímenes de Estado - MOVICE) and the Secretary of the Regional Corporation for the Defence of Human Rights (Corporación Regional para la Defensa de los Derechos Humanos - CREDHOS), an NGO dedicated to the protection and promotion of human rights in Colombia.
David has been set up with criminal charges of murder in an effort to silence him because of his work to expose paramilitaries and their alleged links with former President Alvaro Uribe.
