Women in resistance - The photo exhibit in East Africa

The exhibition Women in resistance brings together photographs taken by photograph Pierre-Yves Ginet during the last 15 years, showing women’s struggles all over the world for equality, justice, democracy, dignity and survival. The goal of this exhibition is to increase the visibility of these women and their fights which remain largely unknown due to the lack of media coverage. It will be touring in several East African countries until the end of the year.

From 4 to 22 February 2014, the exhibition Women in resistance was presented at the Alliance française in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania). The first step of its journey in East Africa. Portraits of Tanzanian women by photographer Sameer Kermalli have been added to the exhibition.

The exihibition will be in Bujumbura (Burundi) on 7 March, and then in Arusha (Tanzania) from 15 to 30 April, in Kampala (Uganda) from 14 June to 13 July, in Rwanda in October, and finally in Nairobi (Kenya) from 15 November to 15 December.
