JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Long-term contract, full-time
Location: The Hague, FIDH Permanent Delegation at the International Criminal Court

Permanent Delegate at the International Criminal Court
Under the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer and
the supervision of the Head of the International Justice Desk
DUTIES
Implementation of program activities on the International Criminal Court
Organization of training and support for NGOs and victims 
Provide support to national NGOs and victims’ organizations to access the ICC.

Facilitate the presence of national human rights NGO representatives in The Hague including logistical arrangements.

Organize training on the ICC and meetings between NGOs’ representatives and ICC and diplomatic officials.
Representation of FIDH in The Hague 
Liaise with ICC and States representatives on a permanent/regular basis, including participation in key NGO and ICC meetings.

Participate closely in the work and activities of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court.
Contribute to the development and implementation of FIDH’s strategy on international justice 
Support FIDH’s activities in countries affected by international crimes, to promote implementation of the ICC principle of complementarity.

Organization and participation in missions, seminars and other activities related to international justice issues in particular the ICC, in close collaboration with FIDH members and FIDH geographical desks.

Assist in the implementation of FIDH’s programs to support victims’ efforts to access justice at both national and international levels, with the FIDH Litigation Action Group.Contribute to the drafting of reports, programming of activities and grant applications for the activities of the International Justice Desk.

Draft reports and press releases on justice and the ICC.
Implement the day-to-day activities of the FIDH Office in The Hague, including:

Administrative tasks

Coordinating with national and international NGOs present in The Hague, and media

Supervising a team of interns
REQUIREMENTS

Degree in Law, with specialization in international (criminal) or human rights or humanitarian law. Knowledge of the ICC and Rome Statute system would be required.

At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience.

Fluency in English, good command of French. Spanish would be an asset.

Experience working with victims’ networks or on victims’ rights and/or on access to justice at the national level would be an asset.

Ability to work efficiently under time pressure, skilled at prioritizing and completing multiple tasks with autonomy.

Experience working closely with NGOs and victims’ organizations around the world would be an asset.

Excellent writing, advocacy and public speaking skills.

Ability to interact with NGOs, government officials and intergovernmental organizations from around the world with tact, diplomacy and cultural sensitivity.

Dynamism and a strong affinity with the goals of FIDH as well as motivation to work in the non-profit sector.
CONDITIONS

Location: S/he will work from the FIDH permanent delegation in The Hague, The Netherlands.

Contract: Indefinite contract with a two-month probation period.

When: To start as soon as possible.

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
