December 10th 2008, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will be 60 years old. It will be the occasion for the FIDH to reaffirm the relevance and modernity of this text, to promote it and to bring it to the attention of the general public, by appropriating the 30 articles, which concern us all.
Marjane Satrapi (well known author of
Persepolis, award
Cannes Film Festival 2007) created for this anniversary a magnificent logo, which will label all the activities of the FIDH and its 155 member associations joining within the framework of this campaign.

The FIDH 60th Anniversary campaign was officially launched on December 10th, 2007, on
the occasion of the annual Evening of the FIDH in Paris. The campaign will continue all year with the activities of the FIDH and its leagues, in particular on :

The launch of the
FIDH Blog on February 20th, 2008.

The opening of a service to the FIDH member organizations, which wish it. With the support of
Gandi, this service will allow them to easily and quickly create a blog and therefore to increase their visibility on Internet.

The launch of a communication Campaign on migrations, simultaneously in Mexico, in
Egypt and in France, with the support of
TBWA /nonprofit, and its subsidiaries in the concerned countries.

The launch of a campaign on the rights of the women in Africa.

The realization of 20 portraits of human rights defenders by
AD Vitam will also be diffused on various international networks. A printed version and an exhibition version, which present the 20 portraits, are also planned.

The publication of a book about the last 60 years of human rights, in October, 2008, will be published by
Editions Flammarion and supervised by
Souhayr Belhassen, the FIDH President.
